  1. Job Purpose

Manage, oversee, and contribute to all knowledge-related activities, including the management, capturing, sharing and accessibility of wildlife and natural heritage development knowledge assets in order to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the information archived and disseminated plans.

 

  1. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

Oversee the defining and implementation of the purpose and strategy of the Database & Knowledge Management, by understanding the needs, and challenges of the stakeholders and users, and ensuring that it is alignment to support the delivery of the organization's goals.

Develop and implement a detailed plan aligned to the Database & Knowledge Management processes, procedures and standards to ensure uniformity and accuracy in managing and recording data/knowledge.

Monitor and control the flow of information, ensuring the delivery of knowledge to the right people and limiting access to areas of sensitive knowledge, so as to protect the integrity of the information.

Ensure the availability of up-to-date data information and the required knowledge to the stakeholders/leaders to allow them to make informed decisions regarding all aspects of conservation, animal welfare, geology, and other topics.

Manage, maintain, and continuously update the RCU's information database with regards to wildlife and natural heritage information, research papers, databases, and best practices while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data collected.

Leverage technology to build an effective Database & Knowledge Management system ensuring time effective information searching systems.

Set and establish Database & Knowledge Management procedures, policies, guidelines as well as the updates and changes of the system post feedback received.

Manage the preparation, consolidating, and communication of periodic reports regarding the use of Database and Knowledge system to relevant departments and stakeholders to drive an increase in the participation as well as contribution levels.

Managerial Responsibilities

Provide input to the sector’s strategy from the Department's or Section's perspective in line with RCU overall vision and mission.

Develop the Department's or Section's objectives, KPIs, annual operational plans and ensure plan execution is meeting the targets.

Contribute to the preparation of the Department's or Section's annual budget and monitor the financial performance of the Department or Section.

Implement and execute the Department's or Section's policies and procedures. Oversee the overall performance of the section and ensure KPI’s are well developed, cascaded, communicated and monitored.

Ensure effective staffing, professional development and deployment of staff of the Department or Section in consultation with the Sector Executive or (Executive) Director.
