  1. Job Purpose

Manage the development and execution of events by identifying event requirements, preparing events marketing plans, executing events, as well as measuring and reporting on the success of events with the aim to attract and increase visitors to RCU managed locations.


  1. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities


Lead the development of the marketing vision, strategies, objectives and action plans that enable the successful realization of the visitor and tourism strategy of AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma.


Direct, oversee, and evaluate the marketing research develop relevant segmentation to be addressed through specific marketing plans, its implementation to build a strong destination awareness for AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma and achieve a high level attractiveness for each visitor segment.


 Lead the development and implementation of the AlUla Event Calendar marketing remit to deliver against commercial KPIs in defined key source markets


Oversee the development and approval of the annual marketing calendar that drives the marketing activities ensuring compliance with set marketing strategies and objectives of AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma.


Oversee the development and execution of market research to enable relevant evaluation of product/service performance and assessing future trends for the visitor offerings of AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma.


Contribute to the development and creation of processes of the policies and standards related to the marketing and branding of AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma and oversee compliace with set policies and standards.


Assume full responsibility for development, management and optimisation of the Season budget for Marketing


Ensure building and maintaining a strong connection with international promotion stakeholders and develop an audience-centric approach to campaigns and being responsive to international market needs and requirements.


Review and evaluate research and reports that address the impact and effectiveness of the marketing activities and initiatives.


Stay abreast of international best practices regarding tourism marketing and branding processes and procedures in order to adopt relevant practices in the interest of AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma.

Managerial Responsibilities


Contribute to the sector’s short- and long term strategy from the Department's perspective in line with RCU overall vision and mission


Develop the Department's strategy, objectives, KPIs annual operational plans and ensure plan execution is meeting the targets.


Prepare and submit the Department's annual budget for approval taking all planned activities and necessary investments into consideration by monitoring the financial performance.


Oversee the development, maintenance, implementation and adherence of the department policies and procedures as well as the overall performance of the department and ensure KPI’s are well developed, cascaded, communicated and monitored.


Ensure effective staffing, professional development and deployment of staff of the sector in consultation with the Sector Executive
