  1. Job Purpose

Manage, oversee, and ensure the dissemination of expert technical information arising from activities within the Wildlife and Natural Heritage Sector, to all levels of internal and external stakeholders and appropriate communication and media platforms, in coordination with relevant internal departments.  In addition, ensure and monitor the cascading of relevant information from internal and external sources to the Wildlife and Natural Heritage members.

 

  1. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

1

Manage expert knowledge arising from Wildlife & Natural Heritage activities.

Oversee the coordination and disseminating of expert knowledge to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure the use of various software, including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software to prepare reports and/or special projects for internal and external audiences.

Manage, develop, and present reports and presentations to the Wildlife & Natural Heritage Executive Director.

5

Oversee the conceiving and preparation of newsworthy media outputs with relevant internal teams.

Ensure reports are delivered with an appropriate standard and quality, in a timely manner.

Manage, oversee, and ensure the dissemination of expert technical information arising from activities within the Wildlife and Natural Heritage Sector.

Attend events to present information on the results and activities of the Wildlife & Natural Heritage Sector.

Ensure to keep abreast of relevant internal and external information and as appropriate cascade to Wildlife & Natural Heritage Sector members.

Manage and ensure to promote the work of the Wildlife & Natural Heritage team and RCU more widely on social media, in line with RCU’s cybersecurity policies and procedures.

Perform other duties related to the position, as assigned by Direct Manager.

Managerial Responsibilities

1

Provide input to the sector’s strategy from the Department's or Section's perspective in line with RCU overall vision and mission.

Develop the Department's or Section's objectives, KPIs, annual operational plans and ensure plan execution is meeting the targets.

Contribute to the preparation of the Department's or Section's annual budget and monitor the financial performance of the Department or Section.

4

Implement and execute the Department's or Section's policies and procedures. Oversee the overall performance of the section and ensure KPI’s are well developed, cascaded, communicated and monitored.

5

Ensure effective staffing, professional development and deployment of staff of the Department or Section in consultation with the Sector Executive or (Executive) Director.
