  1. Job Purpose

Lead the development of RCU as an organization of best practice with regards to cultural heritage management, and champion excellence and innovation in the field. Conduct site visits and monitoring of works as required. Evaluate technical briefs and specifications for mitigating potential damage to urban heritage assets. 


  1. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities


Provide inputs in the development of the vision, objectives, strategies, protocols and action plans for cultural heritage assessments, considering features, monuments, sites, areas, landscapes, and places of cultural significance in AlUla County.


Monitor compliance with Heritage Impact Assessments, propose recommendations, and monitor project implementation.


Provide recommendations and operational support for temporary events and projects in AlUla.


Liaise with project managers, contractors and vendors, in the implementation of RCU protocols and procedures.


Monitor all preventive, interceptive, and emergency conservation programmes and initiatives, and actively collaborate to create a prioritization schedule for cultural heritage sites in AlUla.


Lead the development of strategies and actions with County Operations for the security of heritage sites that are not activated for visitors.


Lead the monitoring site conservation work in accordance with international best practice.


Perform any other job-related duties as required by the direct line-manager.
