Senior Ecologist Specialist Job

3‐ Key Duties and Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

1

Develop the annual plan for all ecological research activities and field studies that will be conducted for the wildlife and Horticulture projects and sites in Al‐Ula County and other RCU sites.

Track and follow up on scientific research, surveys, field studies, and projects that aim to analyze and document the nature and wildlife aspects in Al‐Ula County and other RCU sites and ensure

the technical quality and timely delivery of planned activities.

Follow up on feasibility and socio‐economic studies that aim to identify the new wildlife and horticulture projects and sites to be implemented in Al‐Ula County which drive the activation, development, and management of biodiversity projects and sites.

Support the development of all maps that aim to protect nature reserves, including their

boundaries and habitats.

Develop and update ecological research, surveys, field studies and project management procedures and methodologies based on international best practices.

Coordinate with other organizational units to manage the assessment, development, and implementation of projects that aim to protect nature and reintroduce native wildlife species in

Al‐Ula County.

Monitor and address the needs of scholars, university students, and researchers of information

related to nature and wildlife in Al‐Ula County.

Participate in local, regional, and global conferences, seminars and events related to nature and

wildlife research and field studies.

Support the activities of collecting and archiving all reports, maps, researches, and related documents of the nature and wildlife works in Al‐Ula County.

Study the effects of human activities on wildlife such as poaching, construction and farming, and

of environmental factors like pollution, desertification and climate change.

Perform any other job‐related duties as required by the direct manager.
